Birdpaper By Matthew Rose

Birdpaper

"She laments sir... her husband goes this morning a-birding." - Shakespeare's The Merry Wives of Windsor.

Birdpaper, a new print from Paris-based American artist, Matthew Rose proposes a new kind of birdwatching. Rare species of Nepalese birds pause in a forest of antique French wall paper. Here the dream is fragmented and beautiful and demands a close look‚ just before it takes flight.

The print has been based on a collage on paper from the artist's recent God & Country exhibition at STORIE in Paris this autumn.

Matthew is currently working on producing linear square meters of Birdpaper that can be hung like wall paper or cut and arranged in a personal installation. The Birdpaper wallpaper print will be available by mid-November. For more information visit the Matthew's blog here.
