Introducing the Garden Organic collection

added 26th October 2009

Keep Calm Gallery is pleased to introduce the Garden Organic 'Grow Your Greens' collection of prints!

The collection launches with three fantastic limited edition screen prints, each inspired by the 'grow your greens' message. Garden Organic is the UK's leading organic growing charity dedicated to researching and promoting organic gardening, farming and food. The charity believes that active involvement in food production, at whatever scale, is vital in terms of reconnecting people with the food they eat.

For over 50 years Garden Organic has been committed to helping people grow their own organic food at whatever scale they can, believing that organic is best for both people and the planet.

The collection launches with three limited edition prints from Matthew Green, Lucy McLauchlan and Hayley Thwaites and Lucas Lepola (of Keep Calm Gallery). Each 'Grow Your Greens' edition has been screen printed by hand on recycled paper using inks which are kinder to the environment. Each print has been produced in a limited edition of 100 and has been signed and numbered by the artist.

The collection of prints has been put together as a unique means of promoting the charity's message of growing your own food organically and raising funds to help Garden Organic continue with their fantastic work. From each print sale 35% of profits will go to the charity.

“The grow your own revolution has really kicked off this year, and we’re seeing its influence everywhere from the supermarket to the garden centre. What’s great about the Keep Calm Gallery’s collection is that it takes the ‘grow your greens’ message to a whole new audience where perhaps our normal charitable activities don’t reach. This is exactly the type of collaboration and support that Garden Organic seeks and I really hope that the collection proves to be a success so that we are able to continue getting people growing.”

Myles Bremner, Garden Organic’s Chief Executive.

New look sister site

added 25th October 2009

alphabet bags

Okay, this is slightly old news now, but last week we launched the newly redesigned Alphabet Bags website (our sister site)!

With the brand new look comes a bunch of new features including:

* The ability to create a customer account (if you wish)

* New product viewing methods, Grid view, List view and Window view

* Currency conversions for many international customers

* The option to pay with a credit or debit card as well as PayPal

We hope you will take a look around the new site! You can find it at alphabetbags.com or by clicking here.

It's been a very busy few months here but we're really pleased to have the new site up and running.

Two new prints and a frame

added 16th October 2009

new prints

We have just released two new prints!

'Don't Sweat the Small Stuff' is the latest print by Lucas and myself. We love this phrase and think it's a great motto to live by. Hang up this inspirational print and don't get bogged down by the trivial things in life. Focus on the bigger picture! The design has been screen printed in black ink onto 270gsm Mist paper. The bold type has a faint dotted drop shadow which really makes the print pop from the paper, take a look at the additional images on the product page!

Another new release from the two of us is a design we produced on a tea towel earlier this year, 'If you want breakfast in bed, sleep in the kitchen'. This design has been screen printed in lovely pale green ink onto 270gsm white paper, the perfect message for your lazy loved ones!

We have also just added a rather nice simple black frame, available for a selection of our prints (shown on the left above).

Christmas comes early to Keep Calm Gallery

added 16th October 2009

christmas cards

Lucas and I are excited to introduce our first ever range of seasonal greeting cards! 'Be Jolly', 'Have a Cracking Christmas' and 'Hi' are three great ways to send your holiday greetings to friends and family this year. The designs are available in a mixed multi pack or individually.

We've not designed anything particularly seasonable before so we weren't too sure about when to put these online and we hope you don't mind us telling you about them now, in mid October! (It's never too early though right?!)
