You -- > Me By Matthew Rose

You -- > Me is Matthew Rose's newest print from Paris, designed after a 1999 collage by the artist. After more than two years of glorious giclee printed editions, this is Matthew's first screen printed edition for Keep Calm Gallery.  

 

A visual poem, a lexical love song, a contemporary valentine, You -- > Me hums with intensity of the freshly besotted.  

"I spent an entire Sunday this past July printing this piece with Michel Hosszù at his Bastille atelier here in Paris," says Matthew.  "As a boy in New York, I worked with my father on silkscreens for a variety of commercial clients, so it was like a return to first love to be back in the studio surrounded by the smell of paints and lacquers, and the slow but elegant process of layering color after color to build up the piece. Simple magic, too, setting out the pieces on the print rack as the edition grew towards completion. It's a labor of love."
